Community Center


Registration for recreation, athletics and special events takes place at the Crawfordsville Community Center in advance of the activity unless otherwise stated in the program description. . Many classes do have a minimum and maximum number of participants that can be accepted, so prompt registration is encouraged. We appreciate your cooperation in cancelling your enrollment if you find you cannot attend a class. Please feel free to call our office for any registration information.


The Crawfordsville Community Center has a lot to offer! The gymnasium is regularly available for drop-in basketball or volleyball. The weight room is equipped with machine and free weights, resistance bands and balls, medicine balls, and more. Cardiovascular equipment includes treadmills, bikes, ARC trainers, and elliptical trainers. The indoor walking track is available for walking and running all hours the center is open. 13.5 laps around the track are equivalent to one mile. Lockers are available for day use or rental.


The Community Center gymnasium is available for drop-in basketball or volleyball during all non-programmed hours. The schedule is subject to change based on demand. Cooperation and courtesy is absolutely necessary in an open gym situation. Full court basketball is only allowed if everyone using the gym wants to play full court. Please be considerate of each other. Gym schedule available in control room.


No refunds will be issued after the start of a program without a written medical excuse. In order to obtain a refund due to cancellation, etc., you MUST present your receipt. If the activity or program was paid for by credit card, a credit will be issued to the same card. All other refunds must be processed through the city building, which may take 30-60 days, after which you will receive a check through the mail from the clerk treasurer.


The Crawfordsville Park and Recreation Department staff and board members would like to thank the various businesses, organizations, and individuals who support our programs and projects throughout the year. If you volunteered to coach a softball team, or the like, we appreciate the many hours you gave to provide a positive athletic experience for the children. Maybe you or your group volunteered to plant flowers, pick up litter, or paint benches, we appreciate your hard work. Maybe your business donated financial support or door prizes for one of our many special events, such the Pie Run on the Sugar Creek Trail, or the Fourth of July Fireworks we thank-you. Maybe you helped seniors and low-income individuals file their income taxes, thank-you. Thank-you to the Montgomery County Community Foundation for gifts that have provided educational & social opportunities and have supported many youth programs including and match money for Sunshine Van vehicles. Finally, thank you to MUFFY who provides a portion of the operational budget for the Sunshine Van Program.
