Crawfordsville Police Department swears in Hoycus
CRAWFORDSVILLE (April 19, 2022) – The Crawfordsville Police Department (CPD) is pleased to announce the addition of Kamden Hoycus to the department this week after his swearing in ceremony at the Crawfordsville Board of Works meeting last Wednesday.
Hoycus is a 2017 Tipton High School graduate from Tipton, IN. He attended Indiana University Kokomo for three years to study Criminal Justice and Environmental Science.
Before joining the CPD, Hoycus worked for the Howard County Community Corrections Work Release Program as a detention officer and the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office jail division as a corrections officer. He then attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and graduated with Class 223.
“I chose this profession to better serve the community and be a positive role model for the community's youth,” Hoycus said. “I had interests in several different agencies and after participating in several ride-along opportunities I chose Crawfordsville PD. I rode along during shifts with several officers from CPD during my application process, and it is easy to see that this department is one big team with a great patrol division and command staff.”
