West Main Street Project Coming To An End

Date: July 24, 2017

West Main Street Project Nearing The End

Residents’ Cooperation Needed As Project Wraps Up

Work on the West Main Street construction project will soon be ending but residents are being informed about some safety precautions that will need to be followed over the next week or so as the project concluded.

Milestone Contractors, L.P. is urging residents who live on West Main Street, as well as everyone who might be using this street from Wednesday through Aug. 2, to exercise extreme caution and to be alert while traveling in the work zone.

Recent rains have pushed the completion date back to Aug. 4.

On July 26, Aug. 2 and Aug. 3, West Main (from Grant Avenue to Barr Street) will be closed to all traffic. On those days residents are being asked to make alternative parking arrangements, either in the alleys or the cross streets nearest to their home.

Between the dates of July 26 to Aug. 2, there will be lane restrictions as well as no parking along West Main Street. During this time, the south side of West Main will be open for eastbound travel. The residents that live on the south side of West Main will be able to access their drives and alleys. Please be careful when pulling into and out of your drives and alleys because the eastbound lane will be very narrow. Using the alleys and other access points besides West Main is highly recommended. Please understand that the reason for these closures and restrictions are for the safety of the residents as well as the safety of Milestone workers.

If you have any questions please contact the project superintendent Brent Breyer at 765-412-3403. Milestone Contractors appreciate all of the residents’ cooperation during this process and apologize in advance for all inconvenience.

Should weather further impact this project any updates or modifications will be released through the local media and on the City of Crawfordsville’s social media network.
