Municipal Golf Course Earns Central Region Honors

The Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course was recently named the Central Region’s “Most Improved Golf Course” at the yearly Billy Casper Golf annual conference that took place in Orlando.

The local course was nominated for two awards:

  • Most Improved Golf Course of the Year
  • ACE Award (Guest Service category)

At the BCG Awards Ceremony this Wednesday, Crawfordsville was recognized with nominations in BCG’s Central Region - which consists of 16 facilities.

At the conference Nick Bednar, Vice President of Operations said he was pleased to announce that Crawfordsville won the annual award for Most Improved Golf Course of the Year for the Central Region, given to “The facility that has shown a substantial turnaround in agronomic conditions in the past year.”

According to Golf Course Manager Trent Altieri the biggest improvement last season was the addition of the irrigation system. In addition, the expanding knowledge of the use of various chemicals and agronomical technique has led to an impact on the course. Other improvements since Billy Casper Golf has taken control of the local course has been the upgrade of equipment and drainage work on the south end of the course.
