Bark Avenue Dog Park


Bark Avenue will be closed September 14 - 18, 2020.

This 1.6-acre off-leash dog park is operated by the Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League.

Dog Park memberships can be purchased at the Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Department.

Bark Avenue Dog Park will be open daily from dawn to dusk.

The park has an area for small dogs weighing 30 pounds or less and an area for larger dogs weighing more than 30 pounds.

Parking is available at the RR Donnelley Trailhead located next to the Animal Welfare League at 1104 Big Four Arch Rd.

  1. Pet owners are solely responsible for their pets’ actions, behavior, and security while in the dog park. Owners must remain inside the park at all times while their dogs are in the park.
  2. No animals other than dogs are allowed in the dog park.
  3. Small dog area is for dogs 30 lbs or less.
  4. Every dog’s family must have a dog park membership and provide proof of vaccinations at the time the membership is purchased.
  5. Dogs must be on a leash while entering and exiting the park. Owners must have a leash available while in the dog park.
  6. Dogs in heat, ill, or injured are not permitted in the dog park.
  7. Dogs 4 months and older only. All dogs must be current on vaccinations.
  8. No dogs known to be aggressive towards other dogs and people (or exhibiting any threatening behavior) may enter the dog park. Those who violate these rules are subject to removal from the dog park.
  9. No more than 2 dogs per person are permitted in the dog park at one time.
  10. Dogs must be under voice control and in sight of their owners. Please control excessive barking.
  11. Children under age 10 are not permitted in the dog park. Children 10-15 must be supervised by an adult.
  12. Owners must scoop poop and deposit into trash bins. Waste bags are provided at the dog park.
  13. No food, treats, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, strollers, bicycles, or children’s toys are allowed in the dog park.
  14. Do not bring rawhide, pigs ears, or other treats into the dog park. Fetch toys are permitted as long as they do not provoke other dogs.
  15. If your dog digs, it must be stopped. Owner must fill any holes.

Annual passes are good for one year from the date of purchase.

Proof of current vaccinations is required at the time of purchase.

Each dog using the park must have a membership.

Memberships cannot be shared between dogs.

Members may not admit non-member dogs in with their key fob.

Failure to follow the dog park rules could result in a membership cancellation without a refund.

Shelter dogs are not permitted in the dog park.

Dog owners are solely liable for injuries or damages caused by their dogs. No attendant will be on duty.
